Upper Bay Anglers Form New Chapter of CCA Maryland
North East, MD -Last night in North East, Maryland, 25 saltwater fishing enthusiasts formed the Upper Bay Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association Maryland (CCA MD).
“It’s clear by tonight’s turnout that Upper Bay anglers are eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of CCA MD, but more importantly, to the conservation and protection of the public’s marine resources,” said Bill Curry, President of CCA MD.
The first general membership meeting has been scheduled for 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 20, at the boat house behind Herb and Eleanore Benjamin’s home at 303 S. Main St, North East. Members will elect chapter officers and schedule future events. The public is welcome.
“This is very exciting. With the development of the Upper Bay Chapter, our grassroots web widens to more legislative districts,” said Robert Glenn, CCA MD’s Executive Director.
CCA has helped establish gamefish status for several fish species, fought for net bans in four states, and has worked to prohibit many destructive gear types. CCA was recently featured in Field & Stream along with four other conservation organizations in an article titled “Small Groups, Big Results”.
Saltwater anglers interested in a local chapter in their area are encouraged to call 888-758-6580.
