Join the 5th Annual Nanticoke River Invasive Fishing Derby
Help protect the Chesapeake Bay while enjoying a great day on the water! Join us on Saturday, July 18 at Cherry Beach Park in Sharptown, Maryland for the 5th Annual Nanticoke River Invasive Fishing Derby, presented by Salisbury University and sponsored by CCA Maryland.
This free event targets invasive Blue Catfish and Northern Snakeheads on the Nanticoke River and its tributaries. With over $1,500 in prizes, loaner fishing gear available for beginners, and educational sessions following the weigh-in, it’s a perfect opportunity for anglers of all experience levels to get involved.
Participants can also earn additional prizes by signing up for the Great Chesapeake Invasives Count, helping scientists better understand and manage invasive species across the region.
