Recreational anglers like you helping to manage & conserve our fisheries
For decades, the "best available science" has been the cornerstone of fisheries management decisions in the United States. Unfortunately, managing something that you often can't see and is always on the move is quite the daunting task.
The existing management system was started to manage commercial fisheries, and the challenges of altering the system to manage both commercial and recreational fishing are significant.
For most anglers that have attended a fisheries meeting or followed the system for any amount of time, it's clear that quite often we don't have nearly the amount of data that managers would like, or the resources to capture it.
To overcome these issues, CCA Maryland is asking you to help
"Citizen Science" is one way that you, the recreational angler can use your fishing experiences to help provide the data needed to properly manage and conserve our fisheries now, and into the future.
