Last week, Jesse Howe joined the CCA Maryland team as Assistant Director.

In this role, he will work with local chapter volunteers, partner organizations and local communities to connect them to CCA’s fundraising and mission focused activities. Jesse previously worked with CCA Maryland as a habitat & education consultant, leading Living Reef Action Campaign activities in Calvert and Anne Arundel Counties in early 2023.

Jesse Howe began his journey as a recreational angler at a young age on Maryland’s Western Shore with his late father Hank. It was those early adventures that sparked his curiosity and sense of stewardship of the Bay. He spent his 20s in the western US, and 30s in Latin America where he worked as an educator in international schools and achieved fluency in the Spanish language. Covid unexpectedly brought his family back to MD in 2020, where he had the opportunity to fall in love with the Bay all over again, this time as a father himself.

Jesse currently resides in the Cove Point area and represents the modern recreational angler to a T: patient, observant, eco friendly and determined.

His tenacious resolve to work alongside and educate the public on the conservation of marine resources, as well as a profound love of our local waterways, flora, and fauna, plus a commitment to outreach in the local Latino community are qualities that make Jesse a great fit within the CCA mission.
