The newly formed CCA Maryland Howard County Chapter celebrated a successful Angler’s Night Out on August 13, 2026, featuring Shawn Kimbro, Chesapeake Bay author, angler, and 2025 Maryland Sport Fisheries Achievement Award recipient.
The event brought together anglers and Chesapeake enthusiasts from across Howard County for an evening of fishing stories, local knowledge, and conversation about the future of the Bay.
An Evening with Shawn Kimbro
Drawing on decades spent fishing and exploring the Chesapeake, Kimbro shared insights on striped bass, white perch, seasonal patterns, habitat, and the people who make Maryland’s fishing community unique.
The conversation went beyond fishing techniques, highlighting the culture surrounding the Chesapeake and the importance of healthy, sustainable fisheries for generations to come.
Growing the Howard County Chapter
The evening also gave guests a chance to meet fellow anglers, enjoy time together, and learn more about CCA Maryland’s newest chapter.
The strong turnout demonstrated something important: you don’t have to live on the shoreline to care deeply about the Chesapeake. Howard County has a growing community of anglers and conservation-minded residents ready to get involved.
